There were nearly 100 Computer-Dealt Boards played during the County Pairs Champinship. Two of them featured leading a singleton against 3NT and one of them leading a void against 6 Spades.

Have a look at:

If you have any boards you would like to written up, send me the details and I'll put them on the web.

Thanks

Outstanding Matches

In a postponed 1st Division League match, British Rail A beat British Rail B 17-3.  That leaves only two outstanding matches - Derby A v Derby B in Division 1 and Burton B v Rolls Royce B in Division 4.  The Derby 'derby' has been conceded by Derby A who had to pull out at very short notice.  The rules say that Derby B will receive either their own average for the season or the reciprocal of Derby A's matches, whichever is the higher.  The Burton - Rolls Royce encounter will be played shortly. The Division 2 league is very close indeed at the top (see below).  Sadly, East Midlands Green pulled out of the competition earlier this year and this means that it is likely that only one team in Division 3 will be relegated, while 2 teams should be promoted.  Particular congratulations go to Ripley E, a new team who are leading Division 6 and indeed to all Division 6 players and captains many of whom are new to the game.

Positions at the halfway stage:-

  • Division 1 East Midlands White (84 )  British Rail A (73)
  • Division 2 Rolls Royce A (59) Matlock A (58) Ripley A (58) East Midlands Red (57)
  • Division 3 Allestree Red 64, Belper Yellow 50
  • Division 4 Allestree Blue (58) Burton B (57)
  • Division 5 Burton A (69) Ringwood Green 68
  • Division 6 Ripley E (56) Rolls Royce C (53)
